My Personality Test

Personality Test Steven Middleton

I recently did a personality/psychology test for some sales training we have coming up, I thought the outcome sums me up pretty well, here's small snippet below:

PEACOCK-EAGLE

Optimistic, energetic, friendly and enthusiastic, the Peacock-Eagle
has the natural ability to gain the respect and confidence of all
types of people.

They are confident, warm, friendly, trusting and impulsive. They
inspire enthusiasm in others and spread goodwill.
Sometimes they can be too trusting and optimistic, especially
about their ability to motivate those who do not want to be
motivated.
They are initiators and innovators of new ideas who work in high
spurts of energy and activity.
When they are up they are really up, but when they are down they
are really down. There is no in between for the Peacock-Eagle.
They are imaginative, good talkers and persuaders, and good starters (but not always good
finishers) who work well with other people, especially in a leadership role.
They are actively dominant and confident, and because of this, they tend to win positions of
authority, prestige and status which is an important driving force to them. They love a challenge and
the recognition and rewards that go with accomplishment.
They are witty, good humoured, socially charming and generally take people as they find them.
They hate being locked into structure and routine. Rather, they thrive on change, challenge and fast
moving situations. You could describe them as ‘Adventurers’. Yet they are also logical, objective and
organised.
They are extremely good at promoting themselves, their ideas or anything else they believe in. Their
natural talents often lead them into leadership positions, selling, acting and politics.

WANTS To achieve results which in turn will give them the recognition and applause that go with
those results and achievement. Wants recognition and status.

ADMIRES Achievement. And the ability to verbalise and articulate ideas and concepts in a
persuasive way.

INFLUENCES Peacock-Eagles influence others through their warmth, charm and persuasive
manner.

STRENGTHS Enthusiasm, optimism, warmth and persuasive abilities.

SHORTCOMINGS They tend to become restless, fidgety and impatient when not challenged or in the spotlight. Can tend to overuse optimism and enthusiasm and come on too strong at times.

UNDER PRESSURE Becomes emotional and dramatic, then becomes compliant.
FEARS Being locked into a routine. No challenge. No adventure. No opportunity to use imagination
and persuasive skills. Not being recognised for their talents.

IN A NUTSHELL Optimistic, energetic, open and enthusiastic with an ability to gain the respect and
confidence of all types of people. Trusting and self-assured, they inspire enthusiasm and goodwill.
They are actively dominant and assertive, because of this, they tend to win positions of authority,
prestige and status - which is an important driving force to them. They love a challenge and the
recognition that goes with accomplishment. They influence others through their openness, warmth,
charm and persuasive manner.

BIG SHORTCOMING Over-optimistic.

TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE If you are a Peacock-Eagle you could increase your effectiveness by
listening more, and talking less. Ask more questions, rather than making statements. Use more
patience when dealing with those who are not as fast as you. Slow down a bit. It might be a step in
the right direction. Give it a try.
